EXCHANGE AND PLACEMENT PROGRAMMES
Kolping-Bildungswerk Paderborn/Gesellschaftspolitische Akademie is an academy for adults in social and political questions since 30 years, offers language courses for immigrations since two years with leaving certificate (B 1), above average good in Germany, is cooperated with other Kolping enterprises - called Kolping-Bildungszentren gGmbH (KBZ) - of professional education and training (VETPRO and VET, IVT) for young people/pupil/students between 16 - 27years). In this enterprises we offer VET for more than 4500 persons per day with the help of 450 professional staff with several professions.
The KBZ was founded in 1969. In its 8 vocational training centres (east part of North-Rhine Westphalia) it offers vocational training for approx 4500 handicapped or unemployed young people(16 - 27) or adults. Furthermore the educational training includes a correspondence course in management studies for smaller and medium sized enterprises (KMU or PME) and community care institutions (e.g. old peoples home), an institute of vocational training for the nursing for the aged, management of two adult education residential training centres with a capacity for 200 participants, a laundry (social enterprise), a training centre for adults with psychic/mental problems, a social enterprise for young disabled people, an academy with courses for management in educational, social- and health fields. We have experiences in projects with the vocational integration of teenagers with learning and social problems, psychic handicaps till mental handicaps and disabled persons into the labour market. We qualified nearly 300 staff of child care sector in management, paedagogic, language and diversity skills. We are owner of a school for young people (16 - 24 years) and a school for VET in child care. We are owner of a ***+Hotel (aspethera) in the Centre of Paderborn.
We have put successfully several propositions in Petra, Lingua, Leonardo and Socrates in the last years. As partners, we were involved at the community-initiative „GI Youth start and Horizon“. As a partner and promoter, we are in an Equal development-partnership. We were partner in the Leonardo/Youth/Sokrates “joint actions” framework under the leadership of Alpha NOVA in Kalsdorf in Austria with 9 European partners. We developed a web page for young pupil with learning problems. In 2006 we are successful in the framework of LdV. With a partner in Rome (ANCEI) and in Estonia (Amekool) we discussed the VET-system in child-care. In the project “EULA” we are partner in an european Consortium with the target to push up mobility in europe.
The Kolping association - you will have as a partner - is working in the East part of North-Rhine-Westphalia.
GERMAN LANGUAGE COURSE
Intensive German Course is offered:
- 4 lessons daily,
- 20 lessons weekly
- Small groups (8 – 12 persons)
- Different lessons according to German level of the students, considering your wishes
- Socio cultural activities for the students
- All teachers are native speakers and specialised in teaching German as a foreign language
- Videos, DVD’s, tapes and discussions
The specific contents of the course will depend on the language level, but basically includes: Grammar, oral and written exercises, improving vocabulary, compositions. Conversation (discussions about current affairs in German speaking countries). Introduction to German culture, history and literature, comments on newspapers, German music and folklore. Preparing participants in their sectors, before starting the work placement. Special extra teaching support for students with learning difficulties. Participants' progress is continuously assessed through homework, assignments and final examination. Class attendance is obligatory. In the end, a certificate will be issued according to the type of course, amount of hours studied and level of proficiency.
ACCOMMODATION
Participants are lodged in rooms with two or three beds including bathroom with one or two other students. Accommodation is located in central Soest in the same building as the language school.
We offer also accommodation in the Weberhaus in Nieheim and in every VET-Centre of our organisation in the east part of North-Rhine-Westphalia.
MAINTENANCE (BOARD)
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are possible in our house. Or pocket money will be given to the participants for the respective meals, accordingly with the promoter. Sometimes the employer offers the meals.
INTER-CULTURAL & SOCIO-CULTURAL PROGRAMME
Cultural and leisure activities are organised one (1) afternoon per week. Talks, discussions on German music, art, literature, tours of the sights of Soest and neighbourhood. The school also organises a number of activities, which will help the student to get to know and understand everyday life in the German culture. These activities are not included in the costs of the program and consist on:
Excursions: Visits to other cities such as Dortmund, Paderborn, Muenster, Cologne … these are usually organised during weekends and according to the preferences of the students.

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION
A monthly public transport card or single tickets will be given to the participant to reach work place if it is necessary.
INSURANCE
Participants have to organize their own private health insurance.
ARRIVAL TRANSFER SERVICE
Pickup from bus, train station or airport to your accommodation is provided, if requested. Details of your arrival such as date, time and place are required at least 10 days before arrival. The next airports are Paderborn/Lippstadt (PAD), Dortmund (DTM), Muenster, Cologne, Duesseldorf
CERTIFICATES
After the language course and internship period each participant will get a detailed description and evaluation regarding its content and success from his/her teacher and employer. The EURO-PASS is possible.
INTERNSHIP PLACEMENTS
For the Professional Internship Placement, Kolping Programme Coordinator will interview all participants and introduce them to their future employer. During the internship placement, the coordinator will visit the participants in the companies and help them with any problems. At the end of the programme a final report will be made using the information from the course results, from the coordinator as well as from the employer.
Please note that the position offered to the participant is influenced by the applicant’s level of German (depending on the score of a language test), as well as previous professional experience and academic education!!!!!

STUDY & TECHNICAL VISITS PROGRAMME
We also receive groups in order to offer them the possibility to visit companies and institutional organisations for study & technical visits in any sector together with a language course, tutoring, translation, transportation, accommodation, cultural activities, certificates etc..

PRICE INCLUDES
